The Town of Greenwich is dedicated to the recruitment and selection of a diverse employment group, which is committed to providing quality, prompt and courteous service. To facilitate this goal, position vacancies are posted and advertised widely, dependent upon the level of position.

All candidates for employment must successfully complete a testing process in order to ensure that they are qualified for the position. Candidates who successfully complete the testing process are placed on an eligible list that is forwarded to appointing authorities for consideration. The appointing authority may interview and select from any candidate whose name is on the eligible list. Promotional positions are often filled in accordance with union preference, pursuant to the terms of collective bargaining agreements.
